Monika Normand was born and raised in Western Massachusetts where she developed a deep love for all things natural. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelors Degree in Natural Resource Conservation & a passion to give back to the Earth.
After taking part in several volunteer projects in the U.S., South Africa, and Costa Rica, she wanted to find a way to help fund nonprofits who work to conserve wildlife and the natural landscape.
Monika launched GoodBeads in January 2015 with the vision of creating beautiful jewelry inspired by nature that would in turn do something good for the planet. Her hope was to raise awareness around the importance of wildlife and environmental conservation and to support both sustainable and ethical human development through sales of her jewelry. All of the jewelry is handmade by Monika, using natural materials including stones, shells, wood, hemp, and recycled glass. By purchasing a piece of GoodBeads jewelry, you are helping to fund nonprofits who share in the GoodBeads mission of giving back to the Earth.
